Environment Conservation Dec 2009
PARC has supported six households to make the toilets in order to make the success of Open Toilet Prohibition Zone declaration campaign program of the UNICEF and Drinking Water Supply (Government).
The program was organized by the Rastriya Lower Secondary, Piple, Chitwan by covering surrounding villages and the households own students.
Seedling Production: Nov 2009
To motivate people in conservation based income generation activities and utilize the waste/barren land, NTFPs plantation program was designed. For this highly potential and fast growing and perennial species palm was selected and seedling were grown in small nursery.
Project reused the thrown polythene bags in order to conserve nature by reducing the solid waste and make the project cost effectiveness.
Quiz Competition; Nov 2009
Young students are future natural resource managers and they have to join similar house work what nowadays women are doing. Therefore it was essential to educate young generation for the sustainable management of community forest and wildlife conservation.
So, a conservation based quiz contest having conservation related questions was conducted with in 8 schools of project sites. More than 100 students and concerned school teacher enjoyed the competition. All the materials and conservation related papers were distributed to all school in order to educate remaining students of concerned schools. All together 200 conservation related questions were asked in the competitions.
Notice Board Installation; Nov 2009
In the demand of school and team realization, other 3 boards were installed in more three schools. Students were using the door/windows and blackboard as notice board so that necessity of notice board was realized. More than 800 students are benefited through these boards installation program.
Field Visit: Nov 2009
Field visit having three days was organized in Beeshazar Lake and Barandabhar Corridor Forest in order to monitoring about the lake condition and threats of corridor forest. Altogether five members of PARC participated on program and collected the some information. Both forest and lake were found polluted. Different threatened birds and animals were also observed during the field visit.
The Greenery Volume-7; October 2009
Self Help Environment Awaerness Camp (SHEAC) has published The Greenery: Volume- 7 in the support of Partnership for Rhino Conservation and MeMcoe/Institute of Forestry. Volume has emphasized CLIMATE CHANGE and Rhinoceros unicornis related articles.
This is our regular and coordination activities with nature loving students and professionals. PARC has expected that this will surely helpful to concerned individuals and aware people to make actions for nature/environment conservation.
Conservation Notice Board; Sep 2009
We always conduct all activities in the coordination of forest user groups and buffer zone user committee. We collect financial support and local institution and groups manage locally available resources. To give the project continuity and extend area, buffer zone user committee has provided us timber to prepare extra 10 information board.
Jitia Festival Sep 2009
Program was inaugurated by Chief Guest, President of Siswar Buffer Zone User Committee, Chitwan national Park, Nawalparasi and Vote of Thanks were offered Chairperson, President of Kalika Buffer Zone Community Forest User Group, Nawalparasi in the closing ceremony. A troop presented a welcome song for all participants, audience and guests.

Tharu Women with Conservation Voice; Sep 2009
According to tharu cultural, tharu ladies celebrate the JItia Festival through JHAMTA Song (typical tharu singing melody) to share their sadness. But this time, we (PARC/Nepal, Tharu Society for Bidiversity Conservation, Kalika Bufferzone Community Forest User Group, Nawalparasi) offer them JHAMTA Conservation Song Competition. Tharu women accepted our request and they put active participation. The main reason of our planning to conduct this competition in Jitia Festival is to deliver the conservation message to large number of people. It is quite hard task make such huge participation in conservation work so we grab this opportunity.
WOMEN ON CONSERVATION: Aug 2009
On the occasion of TEEJ (a great festival of Nepalese women), PARC/Nepal and Friendship Chitwan organized song competition with the theme of “Women on Conservation” on 7 Bhadra 2066 (23 Aug, 2009). President of Friendship Chitwan, Koshraj Dallakoti, chaired program and President of Surdevi Community Forest User Group was special guest.
Altogether 7 groups had taken part in competition and other conservation related poem, song, and tale were also presented by other individual, community based organization. In the request of institution, audience and player, program had provided the stage for young people to explore their hidden expertise (dance and song).More than 800 people enjoyed program. Even foreigners had also come and enjoyed the program.
Competition was supported by SeaWorld Busch Garden Conservation Fund, Saving Rhinos, Nagao Natural Environment Foundation, Rufford Small Grant for Nature Conservation and Hand for Conservation. Competition was conducted in compound of Surdevi Community Forest User Group Office. Jaya Manakama Youth Club, Parewashwori Community Forest User Group and Surdevi Youth Club won first, second and third position respectively.
