Song Competition 15 Sep 2007
PARC celebrated the Teej festivals with mother, students and girls groups.
In the occasion of the Teej (Great Festival of Nepalese Women Groups), PARC conducted the “Open Women Teej Song Competition” in the ward No-5, Piple VDC in the joint venture of Forest User Groups, Friendship Chitwan (Local Club), Chitwan National Park Lother Bufferzone User Group. 12 Women and the girls groups from most of the ward of the Piple Village Development Committee participated in the competition. The songs were related with Biodiversity and Rhino conservation and their importance in the ecosystem and human existence. More than thousand peoples were enjoying the programme.
Interaction with School Teacher Primary School
PARC’s team leader, Mr Suman Bhattarai, visited the Bufferzone schools and met Mrs. Bhawani Dallakoti, teacher of Shree Bholebaba Rastriya Praimary School, Piple-7, for the interaction. Mr. Bhattarai found that many poor students are unable to afford their schooling material which made them leave their study. And we decide to support these poor students by providing the education materials having the slogan of conservation. PARC uses to provide the education material to those students whose parents are unable to afford and ignore children’s education due to poverty.
PARC’s team leader also met with Mr. Pusparaj Bhatta, teacher of Shree Rastriya Primary School, Piple-5, for the interaction and collected information regarding the problems of the poor students.
Community Forest User Group’s Chairperson
PARC’s Team leader met with Mr. Guna Raj Thapaliya, chairperson, Surdevi Community Forest User Group, Piple -5, Chitwan to gather the information of existence situation of that area. He explored about their past and future activities of User Groups and requested resources person for the conservation and environment training. PARC’s Team leader decided to help him by providing related documents and literature. Team leader added that PARC’s will try to manage the resources person.
Prize Distribution 14th July 2007
The winner of the essay competition, held on the PARC’s member visited “Rai Village” Chitwan National Park Lothar Buffer-zone area on 22th June 2007, were rewarded. The prizes were distributed through chairperson of Chitwan National Park Lothar User Group The competition was conducted in the joint venture with Friendship Chitwan on 22nd June 2007. Total 20 students from 2 different students were participated on the competition.
Field Visit 15th July 2007
PARC’s member visited “Baghmara Buffer-zone Community Forest” Chitwan National Park Mirgakunja Buffer-zone area on 15th July 2007 and found a mother rhino with her calf wallowing. The mother has broken horn. Our elephant rider guessed that the horn might have broken in the fight with male.
Interaction Lothar Buffer-zone User Group on 13th July 2007
PARC’s team members met Mr. Raj Kumar Bhatta, Chairperson of Lothar Buffer-zone User Group for the future programme. Mr. Bhatta had already planned to prepare a song based documentary with the message of rhino and wildlife conservation. He explored that songs were ready and he is searching help for it. The documentary will be prepared in the initiation of Lothar Buffer-zone User Group’s and interested individual and organization can support on this conservation effort. PARC decided to help in some cases and try to gather support from other allied institution.
Field Visit 12th July 2007
PARC’s members visited “Rai Village” Chitwan National Park Lothar Buffer-zone area on 12th July 2007. Team found some animal were grazing at the boundary of park in Girija Dam. The members of Friendship Chitwan helped for this visit.

Women (Adult) Environment Education
PARC in the joint venture of Friendship Chitwan (Local Youth Club) conducted Women (Adult) Environment Education for 5 days (10th-14th July, 2007) in Surdevi Community Forest Users Group and Chitwan National Park Lothar Buffer-zone User Group, Piple VDC-5, Chitwan Nepal.
